Certain people will know this is my motto, (which I apply to all things, including those detrimental to my well being but that's another story,)
This week we are operating a skeleton crew, myself, & new to the blog but not the Sunday madness workout Phill, Mehendran the smiling assassin, and of course Brett who we will affectionately refer to this week as THING!
With only a four man team for this mission there are only a few photos,
shifting our focus slightly more towards strength & power this week will be longer rest periods and heavier weights (thank god) I'm much happier in this arena. sled drags with a waist harness, walking kettlebell lunges plus various rope drills and weighted carries are our mission this week
So I suggest 3 minutes between heavy movements to allow full CNS recovery! (Central Nervous System)
"3 F*#*ING MINUTES! are you crazy I was thinking more like 15 seconds"! this ain't no holliday camp Edwards!
Alas this is the pitfall of training with a sadist, insane conditions torturous protocols and truly sadistic NON-EXSITANT rest periods!
(I may have designed the circuit this week but he is getting the blame!)
The heat is unforgiving and as usual our grand designs are cut in half, after completing 3 rounds of
drags lunges ropes and heavy carries and a final finisher set of drags with descending weights I decide I am not happier in this arena! we seek shelter from the blistering sun to plan the next half of the workout only to realize we have been training at a pretty decent pace for over an hour already! time fly's when you are having fun, so we gladly call it a day and pack up the kit and head home on our jelly legs.
A special mention this week for Mehendran, who gave it his all he dug in hard and whether it was pure focus or sheer foolishness listened to Brett and excelled in the finishing round of sled drags!
I need to devise some kind of merit system if I had any gold stars to hand out our smiling assassin would have a big shiny one on his chest right now!
I'm always singing out praises for training out in the fresh air but we really need to find an air conditioned warehouse for this!
